  • Overdrive: The Arrowhead Library System, which the library belongs to, subscribes and purchases digital content (books, audiobooks and magazines) for our community. Digital books are downloadable versions of books both audio and text based. Digital books can be transferred to a portable device and some titles can even be burned to a CD. Digital media is automatically returned so there are never late fees or trips to the library.
  • E-Books Minnesotais an online ebook collection for all Minnesotans. The collection covers a wide variety of subjects for readers of all ages, and features content from our state's independent publishers, including some of our best literature and nonfiction.

    Ebooks Minnesota is a joint project of Minitex and theMinnesota Department of Education, State Library Services. The collection was made possible in part by funding from the Minnesota Department of Education through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.


  • EbscoHost eBook CollectionDigital full-text versions of books such as reference works, scholarly monographs, literature and fiction, and 3,400 publicly-accessible titles.

  • Open EbooksOpen eBooks is a partnership between Digital Public Library of America, The New York Public Library, and First Book, with content support from digital books distributor Baker & Taylor. This effort is made possible by generous commitments of publishers with funding support provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and is part of the White House ConnectED Initiative.

    Open eBooks is an app containing thousands of popular and award-winning titles that are free for children from in-need households. These eBooks can be read without checkouts or holds. Children from in-need families can access these eBooks, which include some of the most popular works of the present and past, using the Open eBooks app and read as many as they like without incurring any costs. The goal of Open eBooks is to encourage a love of reading and serve as a gateway to children reading even more often, whether in school, at libraries, or through other eBook reading apps. 

  • Project Gutenberg: Over 50,000 free ebooks 'previously published by bona fide publishers, digitized by us with the help of thousands of volunteers.'

  • Free Book Spot: Online source of free ebooks in categories like scientific, engineering, programming, novels and many other books.  No registration is required to download.

  • Many Books: Our library contains more than 33,000 free ebooks formatted for Kindle, Nook and most other ereaders. You can also access an HTML version of the books to read online. 

  • Free E-BooksDiscover all-new, rising authors. Independent writers offer both entertaining fiction/romance for your enjoyment and non-fiction to help you find info from self-help to biz growth. You need to become a Free-EBooks.Net member to access their library. Registration is free.

  • Internet Archive: is a non-profit library of millions of free books, software, movies, music and more.

  • GetFreeEBooksA site that brings both authors and readers into the world of free legal ebooks. Authors with their ebooks will benefit greatly from the large community of readers and the readers will in return, of course, will have lots of materials to read to their hearts’ content.
