Early Literacy and Reading Aids

  • Help Me Grow IDEA stands for The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. IDEA ensures that intervention services are provided to young children with developmental delays. Help Me Grow is part of Minnesota’s statewide intervention system under IDEA. The Help Me Grow initiative provides information for families, early childhood care and education providers, and health care professionals in order to identify children who may benefit from these services.

  • Solutions for Parents Lifebalance Solutions is a program offered by Lifetrack, a nonprofit human services organization with a mission to develop the strengths within children, families and adults facing the greatest life challenges so that all families and individuals may become strong, healthy and productive community members. We have served the Twin Cities community since 1948.

  • Reading Rockets Reading Rockets creates and disseminates free, evidence-based information about reading through our three major services: PBS television programs, online services, and professional development opportunities.

  • Read Brightly At Brightly, we believe reading has the power to illuminate kids’ lives. But we also know how hard it can be to connect kids with the right books at the right time and keep them engaged with reading as they grow. We want to make it a little easier, and a lot more fun, for parents to raise children who love to read.

  • ABC Mouse ABCmouse.com is a global education initiative of Age of Learning, Inc. Our goal is to help children build a strong foundation for future academic success by providing a comprehensive and engaging online curriculum to greatly assist early learners to succeed in pre-k, kindergarten, and early elementary school programs.

  • Open Ebooks Open eBooks is a partnership between Digital Public Library of America, The New York Public Library, and First Book, with content support from digital books distributor Baker & Taylor. This effort is made possible by generous commitments of publishers with funding support provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and is part of the White House ConnectED Initiative. Open eBooks is an app containing thousands of popular and award-winning titles that are free for children from in-need households. These eBooks can be read without checkouts or holds. Children from in-need families can access these eBooks, which include some of the most popular works of the present and past, using the Open eBooks app and read as many as they like without incurring any costs. The goal of Open eBooks is to encourage a love of reading and serve as a gateway to children reading even more often, whether in school, at libraries, or through other eBook reading apps.
