AskMN is a cooperative service of Minnesota libraries. You must have a Minnesota public library barcode number to utilize the service. Please visit your local library if you need a card.

  • Britannica Public Library Edition - An online encyclopedia for general reference.
  • Career Transitions - Provides hands-on guidance and immediate access to key job search activities, including multi-faceted job searching, activities for creating resumes and cover letters, applying and preparing for interviews. It will also help in discovering career interests; identifying new opportunities based on work or military experience; exploring growing career paths, including green and new economy jobs; and finding education and training.
  • DMV Practice Tests - Take a practice test to see if you are ready to take the real permit test. Every permit practice test contains a series of multiple-choice questions. After the learner answers the question, they immediately see whether the answer was correct or not. A hint is also provided (to be used before giving the answer) and the explanation (to check after you have provided the wrong answer).

  • MasterFILE Premier - Provides full text for nearly 1,950 publications including nearly 500 full text reference books, 84,011 biographies, 83,472 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 192,999 photos, maps and flags.
  • Mango Language - Mango is free for all library patrons and can be accessed anywhere with an Internet connection. Each lesson combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions. The courses are presented with an appreciation for cultural nuance and real-world application by focusing on the four key elements of language learning: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture. You will need your library card number to access.
