December 21, 2020 Special City Council Meeting Minutes

4:15 P.M.

 

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of International Falls, Minnesota was held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building and via BlueJeans Conferencing on the 21st day of December, 2020 at the hour of 4:15 P.M.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:      Councilors Briggs, Buller, Krause and Mayor Droba.

             Media and public via BlueJeans Conferencing. All members noted they could hear the others and the discussion.

MEMBERS ABSENT:      Councilor Ditsch.

OTHERS PRESENT:     City Administrator Ken Anderson, City Attorney Steve Shermoen, Fire Chief Adam Mannausau, Fire Engineer Jared Baldwin, Attorney Jon Huseby and Rehabilitation Consultant for Workers Compensation Scott Campbell.

        

CALL TO ORDER and CONVENE CLOSED MEETING 

Mayor Droba called the special meeting to order at 4:15 P.M. Mayor Droba announced that the City Council would proceed into a closed meeting session with the above listed present in accordance with Minnesota Statute 13D.05, Subd. 2, (3) and/or 4 to discuss the Fire Engineer and Fire Marshal positions. Mayor Droba asked Fire Engineer Jared Baldwin if he would like the meeting to be closed. Mr. Baldwin indicated he wanted the meeting to be closed to the public. MOTION by Councilor Krause to recess the open meeting and move to close the meeting. Motion seconded by Councilor Buller and carried unanimously.

   

RECONVENE OPEN SESSION


 

Mayor Droba reconvened the open session meeting at 5:08 P.M. Mayor Droba shared that a Motion was made to remove some of the provisions in the job description for the Fire Marshall position. Motion failed due to no second. No changes were made to the Fire Marshall job description.

   

ADJOURNMENT 

MOTION by Councilor Krause to adjourn the special meeting of the City Council at 5:10 P.M. Motion seconded by Councilor Briggs and carried unanimously.
