The City of International Falls’ City Council convened a Canvassing Board meeting held in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the hour of 5:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Dill and Councilors Holden, Kalar and Wegner
MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilor Buller
STAFF PRESENT: Betty Bergstrom (City Administrator), Jason Fisher, Bolton & Menk (City Engineer), Todd Ojala (IT) and Lisa Riggs (Deputy City Administrator)
OTHERS PRESENT: Ed Bates, Lois Lundin, and Dan Pelland
The following votes were cast in the ballots tabulated for the question “Approve Bonds for Public Works and Sewer Facility Improvements” in the August 12, 2025, Special City Election and were presented to the Canvassing Board by Deputy City Administrator Lisa Riggs:

| ACCEPTED ELECTION RESULTS AS PRESENTED | Upon review and consideration of the ballot tabulator tapes for the three (3) voting Wards of the City, presented by the Deputy City Administrator, and canvassing of the returns, a Motion was made by Councilor Holden to declare the results that the City of International Falls shall not be authorized to issue general obligation capital improvement bonds in the amount not to exceed $2,755,000 to provide funds for the renovation of the public works equipment garage and sewer vactor garage in the City, as requested by a petition of electors. Motion seconded by Councilor Wegner and carried unanimously. |
