International Falls Utility Rates

The Water Department Office, located adjacent to the Administrator’s Office, provides customer service and account maintenance. The Administration Support Specialist works closely with the Public Works staff to ensure accurate accounting of water usage, billings and collections, and miscellaneous service charges.

Water Line Thawing Within the City

Per Occurrence

  • Regular Hours – $230 (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm)

All work inside of City limits (including, but not limited to, meter reading / repair / replacement: water / sanitary sewer / storm sewer line and appurtenances location requests: water line thawing: steaming: sewer cleaning, etc.) shall be billed at per hour rate (one hour minimum) for equipment rental plus labor (water and/or electric department). Damage to any equipment (hoses, nozzles, etc.) shall require the customer to replace the equipment. City shall order necessary equipment and bill customer actual replacement costs.

The owner shall sign a City Release Form before the City will do any work on the property.

Water line thawing shall also require the services of Minnesota Power to disconnect the electrical service prior to thawing by the City. The owner, if required by Minnesota Power, shall furnish Minnesota Power a release requesting and approving Minnesota Power’s assistance for thawing before the City will do any required thawing work. Minnesota Power will bill the customer directly for their services.

  • Truck / Operator – $10 / hr plus labor
  • Welder / Truck / Operator – $30 / hr plus labor
  • Steamer / Truck / Operator – $50 / hr plus labor
  • Sewer Cleaner / Operator – $75 / hr plus labor
  • JD 710 Backhoe Operator – $60 / hr plus labor
  • JD 690 Backhoe / Operator – $80 / hr plus labor
