Hahahah... a late bloomer?
that’s my brother!!!!
Wow, second hatch?
Wow so late in the year. Hope that one makes it through the winter.
Did the deer make it?
Officer deserves a Stork Pin!
Very kind of you!!! πππππππππ
Fawns in the Fall??
Did you name it Shane? You should..
I do have a couple questions..
1. Was this officer trained in this skill? Is he certified to step into a process such as this or was he on radio with someone and they were walking him through the steps?
2. Was it 100% necessary to step into? The doe looks extremely stressed out after the fact and is not tending to the baby which she probably would have done without human intervention.
3. Were they monitored from a distance to ensure they were able to get back into the woods without more, potentially unnecessary, human interaction or were they just left after the pictures were taken? With the human intervention, if it was not needed, you should probably take it a step farther to make sure they are healthy and safe…
Coming from someone with a degree in conservation, I am genuinely curious about all of these questions..
If it was done following certain wildlife management steps, WHOOHOO! If this was just “a cool once in a life time experience” and done for the photos, I would hope that we would think twice before stepping in..
I’ve never hit a deer , if I see one by the road or crossing I’ll blow my horn loud and long . They move right now ! Deer can only see straight ahead they do not have the side Vision people do .
Atta boy shane!
Jessica Farmer-Gustafson is this the deer you posted about ?
The baby probably didn’t make it which is why she needed help …. If he had not of helped she might’ve died too … thank you for your service !
She didn't need help though. Leave the deer alone
Can you update on the baby? Did it make it?
A bit late for fawning
Is the baby ok?
Good job..bet mom had it though π
Normally fawns are born in the end of May and early June. This is a strange time of year for this. I guess stranger things have happened. π€·π»βοΈ
That's awesome n probably something he won't get to do again lol
While it's easy to jump to conclusions and point fingers, let's remember that we’ve all made mistakes, especially when we’re young. Yes, what happened was reckless, and there are real consequences to his actions. What he did is inexcusable, but it’s also a chance for him to grow and hopefully understand the gravity of his actions. Everyone deserves the opportunity to make amends and become a better person. Let’s not forget that.
He ripped the cemetery up and all
Wonder if this is the same person that previously damaged the plots in the cemetery. Honestly what type of person does things like that?
I just want to say thank you so much to all of the officers keeping our town safe and I also want to say from experience sometimes mental health problems and not having healthy coping mechanism that actually works for you can be hard. Also sometimes alcohol addiction is one of the hardest things to overcome. Now getting a resolution and over coming both of those can sometimes (to some) seem like nearly impossible goals to reach. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Cale and his work ethic and then his mother is doing everything she can to be the best mom possible to all of her kids. Which imo have been great kiddos. Let’s remember and think back to when we were all young and all of the things we have done. Now let’s all remember the saying “he who has not sinned may cast the first stone” and “don’t throw stones in glass houses”. Give grace where it’s needed but give guidance where it is needed as well!
Thank you to our police and sheriff departments for doing a successful arrest. Thank you for making us all aware of what's going on in our town. This person is 18 an adult and should know better so having consequences and treatment might help him "if and only if he accepts it and wants it" We all know how that goes. It's hard for families to go thru this kind of delemma cause I feel your pain / but they have to learn the hard knocks. I wish they would all learn but not all do. All we can do is pray that a good outcome comes from this. The police Dept. and sheriff Dept did an excellent job and need to continue to crack down on people not abiding by the laws. Now let's hope the judge doesn't slap ppl on the hands because they don't learn from that. There needs to be accountability and consequences for the crimes they commit. The saying kids will be kids is over rated / when they are 18 and over they know better and there is alot of fun to be had without drugs and alcohol and no destruction. This should be an example to others who are thinking on breaking the law / it's not worth it / think long and hard before causing yourself a world of hurt!
Crazy to think about people are sticking up for this kid calling him a good kid. Wasn’t this the same boy that made a bomb threat at the school a handful of years ago???
Brain dead the body suffers
Getting wild up there!
Please, anyone who reads this that’s thinking of destroying grave stones keep reading.
Please don’t take out your frustration on someone’s grave stone. That’s the only thing they still have. It’s the last thing anyone can go to . I’m 7 hours away, unable to check my great grandmothers grave. I visit everytime I’m home. It’s the only thing I have to feel connected to her. It’s not cool to break others hearts. Take your trauma elsewhere. Leave the graves alone. Go punch a tree. This is the second time this year I’ve had to wonder if I had a memorial to go back to. How would you feel, if someone did it to your loved ones grave?
Great work Officers π
Sad that he couldn’t find something productive to do. Hope he is able to get help and maybe he should be required to go take care of the damage he has done as part of his punishment.
So I just want to clear this up alittle.. I personally went out to check out the damage to the cemetery.. Cale drove his truck through some grass areas yes he drove over a couple flat headstones but nothing got broke besides some grass.. please people understand Cale didn’t not break or push over any headstones… please no hate responses.. he’s a very respectful & good kid when there’s no alcohol involved.. I too hope he can get the help he needs & can put this bad night behind him
I pray that Cale learns from this mistake and is able to move past it. All of us have done things we regret.
I really think they (IFPD) need to consider moving away from a storytelling narrative style of press releases to minimum-compliant releases as this raises serious ethical concerns as it blurs the line between transparency and public shaming. Police are only required to release basic arrest info, but when they publish full stories it paints people as guilty before trial. That undermines the presumption of innocence, can taint juries, and leaves a permanent stain online even if charges get dropped. It turns law enforcement into judge and jury in the public eye, which erodes trust and fairness in the system. Especially in this case, as he has a whole life ahead of him. Was it okay what he did? Absolutely not. But EVERYONE makes mistakes, and fortunately in this case he got caught and is still alive and no one got hurt. I do understand some releases for public safety such as the one from a few days ago, however every single detail of EVERY report is not necessary.
Great job! Hope they throw the book at him!
It seems there are a lot of "perfect" people around here. So many young people are already struggling with addiction and mental health issues and need support rather than judgement and shame.
It is very common now for police departments in Minnesota to release detailed press releases on their Facebook pages, sometimes with dash cam footage. They also leave the comments open. People may not like it, but it's better than the "rumor mill" which makes the stories distorted and worse. Even tearing up the grass over someone's grave is unacceptable, driving at speeds in excess of 90 mph could have killed someone, especially the driver being impaired. Yes we've all made mistakes, but we've all had to pay the price including being looked down on.
Thank you to the Police Department and Sheriff’s Department for keeping our community safe to live in.
Everyone will believe anything. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone is going through something. Everyone is a saint until all those skeletons that you hide are on full display for all to see. By the grace of God there go I.
If you have a public relations person, they would make a great guest on our morning show. I would love to ask you about your new social media strategy and these type of posts.
Thanks to officers for pursuing the suspect to completion/arrest. Absolute menace.
Glad you caught them there is no excuse for this. Thank you I Falls Police department
Thank you IFPD and KCSD!!! you all have been so busy!!! keep up the great work! hopefully the suspect recognizes that he needs help and accepts it when offered!
I don’t know this kid but I thought he was a good kid. I think he was cleaning blight and garbage runs for a while. Which is a pretty good deed. Maybe something triggered him to do this. Not sure how a person can go from being a Good Samaritan to messing with a cemetery. Out of respect for all the deceased and there families you just don’t mess with anything in a cemetery. Hopefully this boy gets help cemeteries are sacred grounds
Thank you, police department and sheriff's deputies for keeping our community safe. Great job!

I've said it before, and I will keep saying it. A responsive and active police force is crucial to keeping a city and its culture "high trust". People can often times take it for granted. Glad no one was hurt. Thank you!
Glad all came out okay. Hope he gets the mental health treatment or substance abuse help he needs if that’s the case.

Great work for everyone involved. Glad it came to a peaceful end, and no one was harmed. Need to bring back mental asylums, with all the mental issues (due to drugs or family history) in town it’s needed!!
As sad as it is.....If I did not leave that town when I did I truly would have been over of these "give up in life //fkk it statistics that you see every day in these posts. I regret giving up on my plans to be with my children there but I would much rather them see me as the working 10hr days & doing my best to better myself, aside from being one of these post that show me as anything other than a person of growth & knowing my limitations as well as knowing that my personal growth makes me not better than anyone posted on here but truly lets me acknowledge that I needed to heal & took desperate measures to make sure I did not fall into the cage I felt I was in while there. Growth comes within & it is surely up to "OURSELVES" whether we actually change.
