VOYAGEURS NATIONAL PARK TO CONDUCT PRESCRIBED BURNS AT IW STEVENS SITE ON NAMAKAN LAKE.

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MN: Voyageurs National Park plans to conduct prescribed burns of previously thinned materials potentially beginning the week of 9/25, and subsequent weeks through October as conditions allow. The prescribed burn activity will take place at the historic I.W. Stevens home site on Namakan Lake.

The project consists of removing dead and down trees, as well as live balsam fir, with the intent of creating defensible space around structures in the event of a future wildfire. National Park Service fire management crews have been cutting and piling the material with the intent of burning the piles as the preferred method of disposal.

Smoke may be visible in the area at the time of burning. However, smoke will be kept to a minimum, as the burning will be conducted over the course of several days. Updates will be posted on the park’s website and Facebook page.

This is a good way officers can connect with those in their communities!

Good Afternoon,
A few minutes before noon today a teacher reported that a couple students viewed a bomb threat written on a stall in the West End boy’s bathroom of Falls High School. Administration immediately responded and law enforcement was here very quickly. It was specific to a location. That location was cleared and swept by law enforcement. Nothing was found and consensus is that it is not credible. The investigation continues and we want families aware that every situation will be taken seriously. School will remain in session.

Way to go guys. Great work!! Thanks for all that you do for our community. Stay safe.

Thank you

Thank you for all you do!

Thank you for protecting our Communities!

Oh wow. Thank you for keeping kids and everybody here safe.

Great job everyone! Hopefully he learns his lesson...you can run but you can't hide👏👏

Thank you

It takes a village! Good teamwork.

As much as I like motorcycles and think they are fun to ride a little respect for the safety of others is important they should have just stopped the first time it’s not worth the aftermath whether it’s charges or an accident you never recover from all in all we appreciate the work done and keeping the community as safe as possible

Good job👍

People should know don't try that in a small town! Great work to our police and sheriff office.

💙Thank goodness he has been caught. ( He could've killed someone else.😡). I hope he gets his drivers license taken away for Life !! Hard lesson Needs to be learned for him. ***Great Job All Law Enforcement Officers.***👮💙

for sure a good post~! thank you, Mike Kostiuk, this kid put himself in great danger and MANY persons that he swerved in front of in bad danger. thankfully no one goy hurt ..I did see him. his speed was scary for going all the way through town and then going the direction of the lake.. scary

Where did he go? No longer on the jail roster.

That’s so dangerous. I don’t know why that’s even necessary.

Please, ask that Koochiching county attorney to ask her boss in person if you have authority to initiate any traffic stop. You ask the judges boss, who is the postmaster general. If you don’t know the answer, go to the planetary judge, you all have someone to answer to and we are asking so you get the Answers!! Ask where the money goes that is collected from that courthouse for anything including bail and taxes, because you’re all about to get audited, so anybody making money off of this better know the answer. Do the laws you follow just come off the computer so you could say you follow laws of a robot or Artificial Intelligence to explain how you go against your community for your lack of common sense or are you truly as evil as the government you work for???? who is your source of truth?? Because you are the ones that are in contempt for not investigating and you are being used as minions in the middle, to steal from the innocent.

Our annual National Night Out event was another success! We would like to thank the community for attending as well all of our partner agencies for their help. The event would not have been possible without the International Falls Public Works Employees, International Falls Fire Department, Koochiching County Attorneys Office, Koochiching County Sheriffs Office, U.S Customs & Border Patrol, Minnesota State Patrol, Friends Against Abuse, KAPE, and many others who helped us last night!Image attachmentImage attachment+Image attachment

Greatly appreciated! Well done!

Thank you so very much! It was a wonderful evening and we should be throwing all of you a party!😉

Thank you! It was a great time!

We had an amazing time there and visited with a lot of the unknown people as well.

A very healthy partnership between law enforcement and the “public”! Focusing on the GOOD stuff instead of griping all the time about everything. This event demonstrates that there is HOPE for better things. A tip of the hat to all participants - WELL DONE!

Thank you for this having this celebration. It brings the whole community together and Thank You all for your service!!!!
